Fusion Firearms XF Pro

Today, we’re diving into a detailed look at the Fusion Firearms XF Pro, a 9mm striker-fired pistol that's recently captured my interest. Before we jump in, I want to extend my appreciation to Fusion Firearms for providing the XF Pro for review, though as always, my opinions and feedback remain honest and unbiased.

I’d also like to take a moment to thank my membership supporters and Scottsdale Tactical for their continued support of my content and channel.

Now, let's break down the XF Pro:

The XF Pro is a compact yet substantial pistol, weighing in at 26.5 ounces (1.66 lbs) and measuring 7.29 inches in overall length. This balance of size and weight makes it versatile for concealed carry and capable enough for solid range performance. Its aluminum frame features Sure Grip checkering, offering decent ergonomics, although personally, I'd prefer a more aggressive texture for enhanced grip security.

A standout feature of the XF Pro is its 4-inch fluted barrel, compatible with Glock Gen 4 barrels, finished with a durable PVD bronze coating for improved corrosion resistance. The pistol's all-metal recoil system is robust, designed to withstand heavy use. The slide includes practical pro serrations and vents that assist with handling while adding to the pistol's aesthetic appeal. Additionally, Fusion improved upon Glock’s standard takedown catch, making the XF Pro notably easier to disassemble.

Another notable ergonomic addition is the thumb rest, which helps with overall control, particularly useful for rapid-fire scenarios. The extended magazine release is also well-executed—easy to manipulate without repositioning your grip. On the downside, the pistol lacks ambidextrous controls, although at its price point, this isn’t a major complaint.

Customization enthusiasts will appreciate the interchangeable aluminum grip panels available in bronze camo and black. The grip itself shares similarities with CZ-style pistols, ensuring comfort during extended shooting sessions. There's also a cocking indicator on the rear of the slide, providing a practical visual confirmation that the striker is cocked.

Trigger-wise, the XF Pro features a flat-face competition-style trigger with a crisp 4.5-pound pull, clean break, and noticeable reset. It's smooth and predictable, making follow-up shots consistent and accurate.

The XF Pro comes optic-ready, equipped with both RMR and RMS/C plates. I mounted a Cyelee Chameleon G-SRS8 optic, which significantly enhanced target transitions. However, it's worth noting that the factory-installed sights don't allow co-witnessing with the optic due to the thickness of the optic plate. Taller iron sights would be required for those who prioritize co-witness capability.

Included with the XF Pro are two 15-round Glock-compatible magazines. These mags lock in securely, feed reliably, and consistently lock the slide back on empty.

At the range, the XF Pro delivered solid performance. The all-metal recoil system effectively managed recoil, contributing to its stability during rapid-fire drills. The pistol's balance and trigger responsiveness translated into consistent accuracy and controlled handling throughout my testing.

One particularly unique feature of the XF Pro is its all-metal striker-fired construction—relatively uncommon in the current pistol market. This metal build contributes to the pistol’s overall heft and stability, appealing to shooters who prefer a heavier firearm.

In summary, while there are minor improvements I'd like to see—such as ambidextrous controls, more aggressive grip texture, and either a thinner optic plate or taller iron sights—the Fusion Firearms XF Pro is a reliable, robust, and competitively priced pistol. My favorite aspects include the customizable grip panels, included optic plates, excellent slide design, effective thumb rest, improved takedown catches, firing pin indicator, and its reassuring weight.

Whether you're looking for a reliable concealed carry option, a pistol for range days, or a competitive firearm, the XF Pro offers impressive performance in a durable package.
