The latest innovation from Mantis is here, and it’s turning heads — the Mantis Titan X. Announced at SHOT Show 2025, this trainer is a Glock-pattern, non-firing laser pistol featuring an auto-reset trigger, built-in laser, USB-C charging, and full MantisX app integration.
I’ve been running the Titan X for a while now, and since Mantis sent it over for review, I’ve been putting it through its paces alongside the BlackbeardX, which I already use on the rifle side. Together, these two form a complete short-gun / long-gun dry-fire system — perfect when you can’t hit the range but still want meaningful reps.
Modeled after the Glock 17 platform, the Titan X fits most Glock holsters and uses weighted magazines that replicate the feel of a loaded pistol. Those mags make reload drills realistic — not the cheap, hollow feel you get from airsoft or laser toys.
The trigger offers a tactile reset, and every pull activates an on-trigger laser, giving you immediate point-of-impact feedback. Add in the USB-C charging and LED battery indicators, and you’ve got a smart, self-contained trainer that doesn’t waste your time swapping batteries.
If you’re serious about improving fundamentals — trigger control, sight alignment, target transitions, and reloads — this setup helps you fine-tune technique without burning through ammo. You can train anywhere safely, with zero risk of accidentally loading a live round.
When paired with the Mantis app, you get data-driven insights:
That means your practice isn’t just guessing anymore — it’s measurable, repeatable progress.
The Good:
✅ Real Glock 17 ergonomics
✅ Weighted mags with proper feel
✅ Reliable app analytics
✅ Fully safe for any environment
The Limits:
❌ No reciprocating slide — so no slide-rack drills
❌ No recoil simulation — still need range time for that
❌ Laser POI can vary slightly — always verify before relying on data
This isn’t meant to replace live fire. It’s meant to make your dry-fire time count — to reinforce habits, refine trigger discipline, and track improvement before stepping back onto the range.
If you already run the Mantis BlackbeardX for rifles, the Titan X is its perfect companion. The data crossover between pistol and rifle platforms helps you correct shared fundamentals — grip tension, sight tracking, and trigger movement — across both systems.
I ran drills like draw-to-first-shot, reload sequencing, and malfunction clears, and the app showed measurable improvement every session. That’s the difference between “practice” and purposeful training.
The Mantis Titan X (Glock 17 Version) is a solid, data-driven tool that delivers measurable improvement. It’s not a toy, and it’s not a gimmick. It’s a purpose-built trainer that fits neatly into real-world workflows — whether you’re a competitive shooter, a concealed carrier, or someone who just wants to make every rep count.
If you’re serious about tightening fundamentals, this is worth the look — especially paired with the BlackbeardX for a true short-gun / long-gun training loop.
